Neurological Care for Pets

At Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island, our board-certified veterinary neurologists provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for pets experiencing advanced neurological conditions.

At your appointment, our neurology specialist will perform a detailed neurological exam to determine if, and what part of your pet's nervous system is affected.

Once the exam is complete, the neurologist will take the time to discuss their findings and the next steps, including diagnostic imaging and our state-of-the-art MRI services necessary to determine the exact cause and available treatment which may include medical therapy, surgery or critical care.

Diagnosing Neurologic Conditions

Our imaging department offers the latest advances in digital radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, C-arm fluoroscopy, and Computed Tomography.

All of our imaging studies are obtained in a digital format, which is transferred and stored on our image database. These modalities are utilized extensively for all myelogram studies within the Neurology department.

This equates to higher quality studies in less time, which reduces patient anesthetic and recovery time.
