Dr. Jonathan Mehlrose
DVM (Practice Limited to Avian & Exotics)
Dr. Mehlrose received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in History from Stony Brook University in 1999. He then proceeded to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with honors in 2004. While in Veterinary school, Dr. Mehlrose established the Ross University Student Chapter of the Association of Avian Veterinarians. Post-graduate training included an internship at the Center for Specialized Veterinary Care in Westbury, NY. He then received two additional years of advanced training in the field of exotic avian medicine and surgery on Long Island.
Dr. Mehlrose is a native Long Islander and shares his home with two umbrella cockatoos and a chocolate lab named Jack.
Dr. Mehlrose always had a strong interest in exotic animals and had a variety of exotic pets growing up. Professional memberships include the Association of Avian Veterinarians, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.
