Dr. Jill MacLeese
DVM, Diplomate ACVO
Dr. Jill MacLeese was raised on Long Island and is extremely happy to be back in NY serving the veterinary community at VMCLI. She attended veterinary school at St. George’s University, completing her clinical year at North Carolina State University. Upon graduating from veterinary school, Dr. MacLeese completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Southern California Veterinary Specialists in Irvine, CA.
After her internship, Dr. MacLeese moved back to Long Island to pursue a one-year specialty internship in ophthalmology, followed by a three-year comparative veterinary ophthalmology residency at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island under the mentorship of Dr. Noelle La Croix, DACVO. She became board certified in August of 2017 and is a current Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO). She is dedicated to sharing her knowledge with our valued veterinary community. Additionally, she enjoys lecturing and providing in-practice continuing education to our valued referring veterinarians. Dr. MacLeese’s caring approach is another essential part of our compassionate and experienced team.
Dr. MacLeese enjoys all aspects of ophthalmology but her special interests include surgery, corneal disease and ocular manifestations of systemic disease. She enjoys reading, travelling, trying out new and unique restaurants, and spending time with her family (both 2 and 4-legged).
