Dr. Emily Cottam, Diplomate ACVECC

Dr. Cottam graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.  She completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine followed by working for a year as an ER doctor at a specialty hospital in Boston.  From 2012-2015 she was a small animal emergency and critical care resident at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ.  After completing the requirements of her residency training, she became a board-certified diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2015.  She has worked at multiple hospitals in Upstate New York, and is very excited to join the team here at VMCLI.

 

Dr. Cottam’s’ special interests include hemodialysis, transfusion medicine, fluid therapy for shock resuscitation, coagulopathies, and trauma. Outside of work, Dr. Cottam enjoys spending time with her husband and their dogs.  She enjoys running, playing board games, watching basketball and international travel.
